Public Education is Not Free... There are no viable alternatives to high-profit product fundraisers.

Hey, I wanted you to see an excerpt, a screenshot if you will.

This is a parent group member talking about product fundraisers.  I think it's interesting because there are quite a few people out there ready at a moments notice to chime in.  They will suggest that organized fundraising is not good and there is another way.  Things like 'I'd rather just write a check' come to mind, but there are a lot of suggestions that come up - why not host a bake sales, swap meet, etc. just to name a few.

Here's the comment:

Honestly, I'm glad I'm not the only one with the crazy idea that we should all actually support high-profit product fundraisers until there is an alternative.

Times change and so do philosophies.  I know that we will realize that great fundraising is worth supporting, but it may take a while.  The danger is thinking there are comparable alternatives, when in reality, there are not.

Ok, until next time!
