Just ran across a pretty cool school fundraising idea.
I've been a fan or art gala fundraisers for quite some time and so I enjoy school fundraisers that offer a valuable exchange.
I like sales where you can buy your child's art for a tax deductible donation while socializing with juice boxes, cheese and grapes. It's entertaining and makes you feel proud.
So, just to set things up, I believe that at an art gala, it's a good idea to have centerpieces - collaborative art that sells for more than the individual student art pieces. This would be say one nice painting per classroom that is professional enough to hang in a house or business. They can be sold via silent auction where the student pieces can be sold by the piece or for the entire collection.
PTOtoday.com user badpants posted a while ago about an idea she had which I wanted to share. Her idea puts a spin on this and here it is:
She took a number of class photos and created a photomosaic.

I hope this information helps and you gain some insight and maybe throw a better event because of the info.
Ok, until next time!
