If it's cool, it's cool.
If it's not, it's not.
But it is up to you to judge for yourself.
By including a workplace in raising money, you share the responsibility amongst members of your community. It can be uncomfortable, but it's shared and important.
If you choose to keep it to yourself, it's yours and yours alone. That's Ok too. After all, it makes no difference to the school. But it does add obligation to you that others may just want to help with if they were asked.
What communities do is pull together when there is a need, so if your need is great enough, you don't have to worry about asking.
